Rach Gia Seafront Urban Development

Located in the gulf of Thailand, Rach Gia is the heart of Kien Giang provincein the South of Vietnam. It has great opportunities of becoming a regional and international gateway to the Mekong anf Phu Quoc areas. Seeing this potential BIM aims to create a high quality urban development including mixed density residential, commercial, retail and tourism zones to serve a population of up to 13,000 people.

The chosen site is about 90 hectares of future reclaimed land along the western side of Rach Gia town and is approximately 80 meters off the current shore. It will comprise three small islands reflecting the separate phases of development. First phase will be a 27 ha island in the South which extends the existing city center of Rach Gia to a new harbour. It will provide facilities such as commercial center, 5 star hotel, entertainment center, cruise terminal, fish market, etc... to support the new development as well as the existing city. Phase two continues with a 32 has island to the North. This area is mainly high quality mixed density residentail. Phase three consists of a 31 ha of mostly residentail development and school facilities.

The development is intended to be a benchmark for future sustainable urban development in Rach Gia, protecting and extending the existing coastal mangroves as well as creating both an important ecosystem and recreational open space for the city.
